Morgan was born in Washington and grew up in Port Hadlock, a small town on the Olympic Peninsula. She is the oldest of four girls, who all share the middle name of “Melody”. Morgan started playing flute in 5th grade, later changing to saxophone, which she has played ever since. Though she often plays brief solos during our band arrangements, this is the first time she has played a “stand in front” solo.
Morgan attended Eastern Washington University, where she earned a degree in Music Education. She has since also earned a Masters of Education in Instruction Design and a Masters of Special Education Studies from Western Governor’s University.
Morgan lives in Enumclaw with her partner, Jason, and two sons, Myles and Markus. She works as a Kindergarten through 5th grade General Music teacher at Thorndyke Elementary in Tukwila, where she just completed her 8th year of teaching.
In her spare time, Morgan enjoys being outside with her sons, camping, and collecting beach glass.
